How To Start A Business At Home

There are a two main reasons that make people decide they want to make the transition into working from home.

  1. Freedom (working from home gives you flexibility)
  2. Financial (some home businesses can pay very well)
Freedom can cover things such as having time to spend with your family, seeing all those special moments if you have children such first steps, words, first day at school etc.
It can also mean just having the freedom to do the things you want to do, when you want to do them, which of course is where you need the financial part to be good.

So, for me I decided to work online because leveraging the Internet is one way to make lots of money for half the time, make no mistake it's hard to start and a VERY steep learning curve but see it through and the rewards are, well very nice!

I also like Network Marketing (as long as it's a good product) yes I know people say "I don't like approaching my friends or family) but personally if I have a great product I tell people.
If you have a good meal or see a good film you tell people right? Well this is no different, your not selling it but talking about it my main blog has some articles about this www.philroskams.com

It's not overly difficult learning how to start a business from home but what is hard is getting the right mind set and avoiding all the distractions that a home business will bring and once you start getting distracting it is the start of a slippery slope.

My main advice is:

  1. Support - Get the support of your family, let them know you are starting a home business and you are taking it very seriously. Help them understand that between certain times it's as if you are not at home.
  2. Your Desk - Make sure you have a designated place of work, a spare room is best but at the very least a corner of the house where you won;t be disturbed.
  3. Mind Set - Get in the right mind set or you will fail, you may be working from home but it is still a business and you need to treat it as one.
  4. Planning: Make a plan, what hours will you work and what will you carry out within those hours. It is very easy to drift from one task to another.
  5. Budget - What ever you are doing at home you will need some sort of budget, decide what you can afford every month.
  6. Research - Especially if you are going down the MLM, Internet marketing route research the company on Google, forums as there are a lot of dodgy people out there ready to take your money.

Whatever you decide keep at it and remember rome wasn't built in a day.
